5. THE SAVING POWER OF GOD’S LOVE.

“But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved) and hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus; that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus” Eph. 2:4-7.

“Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it, that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word that he might present it to himself a glorious church not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” Eph. 5: 25-27.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, hut have everlasting life.” Jno. 3: 16.

All in the world of every nation who are embraced in God’s love and were chosen in Christ before the world began, is meant in the expression, “God so loved the world,” for whom God loves he can never hate, his love is an everlasting love, and “Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 8:39.

Therefore all whom God loves cannot be finally lost. God does not love the sins of his people, therefore he saves them from and not in their sins, but their sins did not prevent God from loving them while dead in sin, and enemies to God. Well did the apostle John say, “Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God” I Jno. 3: 1. See also Rom. 5:8
